Men’s Shirts & Jackets Body measurements

Work shirts are cut generous through the shoulders and chest. Neck drives shirt size; chest drives tees and jackets. Tall versions add roughly 1½–2″ of sleeve and body length at every size.

Men’s Work Pants — 874® & Friends Numeric waist

Numeric sizes follow your natural waist in inches (measured over the shirt at the top of the hipbone, tape snug not tight). The Original 874® sits at the natural waist with a loose straight leg and runs a touch roomy — size for your actual waist, not your other pants.

Inseams: most styles come in 28″ / 30″ / 32″ / 34″ (71 / 76 / 81 / 86 cm) — measure from the crotch seam to the top of your shoe. Waist sizes 48–60 continue in the same steps as Big & Tall.

Alpha sizes map to US numeric sizes as shown. If your waist and hip point to different sizes, go by the hip measurement. Between two sizes: smaller for a closer fit, larger for a looser one.

How to Measure

Use a soft tape, keep it level and snug — never tight.

NeckMeasure around the base of the neck where a collar would sit.
SleeveFrom the bottom center of the collar at the back, over the elbow, down to the wrist bone — arm slightly bent.
ChestAround the fullest part of the chest, under the arms and across the shoulder blades.
WaistAt the top of the hipbone, over the shirt (not over pants), held snug.
SeatAround the fullest part of the seat and the front of the crotch.
InseamFrom the base of the crotch seam straight down to the top of the shoe or boot.

What to expect from each fit family.

Original 874® = loose

The icon sits at the natural waist with a loose straight leg and generous seat — sized for movement over a workday, so it wears roomier than fashion pants.

Slim & modern fits

Slim straight styles (like the 872 family) run truer to modern retail sizing. If you know your 874 size, you may take one smaller in a slim fit.

Unisex runs big on women

Unisex pieces are cut on men’s blocks. A unisex S is roughly a women’s M–L; check the numeric conversion in the Men’s Pants tab.

Fabric & shrinkage

65/35 poly-cotton twill barely shrinks; 100% cotton duck may tighten slightly — a reason not to size down when layering for winter work.

Big & Tall

Waist sizes run to 60, and Tall tops add 1½–2″ of sleeve and body length at every alpha size.

Care

Machine wash warm, tumble dry low; stain-release finishes mean most work shirts wash clean without pre-treating. Wash duck canvas separately the first time.
